"Chuch" Lithograph by Antonio Carbonati,  (Mantua 1893 - Rome 1956) Italian Artist.  View of a Church.
Antonio Carbonati: now firmly placed in the front rank of early twentieth century Italian Art. Antonio Carbonati 's first published etching
date from 1916. During the following three years he created a number of etchings (most dealing with Rome)
which brought him an enthusiastic  reception from the public. Unlike so much art in Italy at the time, these were not traditional or tourist views,  but thoroughly  modern images, indicative of Antonio  Carbonati's very unique style and contemporary concerns.
Between 1920 and 1925 Antonio Carbonati lived and worked in Paris. French recognition of Carbonati's talent was swift and he became a juried member of the Salon d'Automne (1923) and won  the prestigious  gold medal at the Exposition International des Arts Decoratifs, Paris (1925) Antonio Carbonati then returned to Rome and continued to create his own very distinctive cityscapes. .
