"A Roman Abducting a Sabine Woman" Etching by Jan Harmenez Muller from a disehn by Adrian or Adriaen de Vries Hagten inv.-L'Aia 1550 Praga 1626 Jan Harmenez Muller sculp.fit - Dutch born 1571-1628 , He was a Mannerist sculptur trained under Giovanni Bologna, Rome. In 1601 he was appointed sculptor to the Emperor in Prague. In 1612 he was employed by Count Ernst of Schaumberg. In 1618-20 he manufactured sculptur for Christian IV of Denmark. From 1622 he worked again in Prague, in the Palace of Duke Albrecht of Wallestein. In time, his style departed from the vigorous precision of Giovanni Bologna towards an increasingly more intricate and restless modeling.
